Volume 2, Issue 27 - February 22, 2019
Once again we want to remind you that our last day of school changes as we have to use more Snow Days. As of today, our last day of school is May 28th. Once we know with a degree of certainty when the last day of school is, we will share the final calendar for end of the year celebrations.
Please, keep in mind that May 28th is a school day as you plan your vacation!

1, 2, 3, 4... StuCo Declares a Penny War!
During the week of March 4-8th, Student Council (StuCo) will be sponsoring a Penny War to raise money for City of Refuge. This organization helps equip refugees and immigrants in Columbia with the materials that they will need in order to help them successfully assimilate into our community. During this fundraiser, students will be filling four buckets with either pennies, silver coins, or dollar bills. Each bucket is representative of a team of our very own GMS faculty members. In the end, the group of faculty member whose bucket contains the most pennies (or is filled with the highest monetary value) will step up to take a pie in the face for a good cause. The actual pieing will take place in the gym before the school day begins on Thursday, March 14th (Pie Day). StuCo is excited about their first ever Penny War and welcomes all of the support that they can get to help out this great organization!
