GEORGE WASHINGTON

OUR NATIONS FATHER

Who is he and what did he do?

George was born on February 22, 1732 in Westmoreland, Virginia. He was the commander in chief of the continental army during the revolutionary war, helping us win our independence from England. He also signed the declaration of independence and was the first president of the United States of America. Our capitol of Washington D.C. was named after him be he refused to serve his terms there he instead served his presidency in Philadelphia. He died on December 14, 1799 in Mount Vernon, Virginia at the ripe age of 67.

His influence and publications about him.

He was a very influential leader he rallied troops just as well as he did the public, that’s why he was chosen to lead the continental army and ultimately the nation as our first president. When he was young his father died preventing him from finishing his education in England and even though he didnt school as siblings did, he still finished his education through tutors and gained a well paid surveyor position. This person has influenced me to achieve more than average through leadership and dedication.
