The Parsons Happenings

WE ARE PARSONS STRONG AND READY!
Dear Parents,
This week was super exciting as we welcomed back our second phase of in person students. As we greeted the smiling, masked faces of our 2nd and 3rd graders to our building, we also saw proof of just how amazing our Parsons learning community is as we transitioned to the "hybrid" platform of learning. Is it new? Yes. Have we ever done this before in the history of education? No. Are there going to be a few kinks that need to be tweaked? Yes. BUT, because we are in this together, ALL our students are connected and learning alongside one another whether they are in person or digital. We are #PARSONSSTRONG!
Following our 3-Day weekend, we will be welcoming our 4th and 5th graders, who selected in person, back to the building on Wednesday, Sept. 9th. Students will remain with their current homeroom teachers. Teachers will implement the hybrid model of instruction, where the digital and in-person students are learning together.
Be sure to check out our weekly video capturing some of the GREAT things that took place this week as our 2nd and 3rd graders came back in person.
Have a great Labor Day Weekend and thank you for making Parsons the best!
Your BEYOND proud principal,
Laura Clark

Students who elected to continue all-digital instruction may still participate in this assessment at Parsons Elementary School. If your child is digital and you want them to participate in CogAT testing, please complete the form linked below. By doing this, you are registering your child to take the CogAT on the grade level assigned testing date. You will need to complete a Registration Survey for each of your students in 1st, 2nd and 5th grade. The assessment will only be given on the date listed and there will be no make-up days offered. Students must arrive at school by 8:50am in order to participate in testing. CogAT Registration for digital students must be completed by Thursday, September 10, 2020.
