Weekly Update
August 8th, 2023
October 30- November 3, 2023
Message From the Principal
Big thanks to the Booster Club for putting in the time and effort to plan a fun Game and Dance Night for the students. We appreciate all who donated items and volunteered for this event to give our students a fun activity to do together as a school!
We also wrapped up our 2nd Monthly Celebration. These happen monthly so students will be given another opportunity to turn their assignments in on time, get their grades brought up and make good respectful and responsible choices in November. Continue having conversations with your child about their grades, continue checking skyward and reaching out to their teachers. As always we offer ASAP on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30pm for additional support.
Students and Staff of the Month
This year the Leadership class has decided to change how student and staff awards are given. This will be done twice a month, with 1 boy and 1 girl winning from each grade level. One week we will have girl winners and one week we will have boy winners. The leadership class was able to get some Gift Card donations from local businesses to add to the award gift package. Teachers are also asked to be more thoughtful and provide the why with their nomination. When teachers nominate students they are looking for the following:
Integrity
Responsibility
Respect
Effort
5th Grade- Easton Hefner
6th Grade- Chance Gravenstein
7th Grade- Wyatt Ray
News From the Nurse
We can easily get overwhelmed staying ahead of the risks our children may encounter, from monitoring their technology devices to peer relationships. Exposure may be unintentional. Accessibility is easier. Edibles. Gummy candies, chocolate, lemonade, and the list goes on. The item and packaging may look like regular sweets and snacks, but are THC-infused and not proven safe for children. Effects can include intoxication, altered perception, anxiety, panic, sleepiness, paranoia, dizziness, poor coordination, breathing, and heart problems. Regular use can impair memory and concentration which interfere with learning. If you have them in the house, store them safely, like other medications, out of reach from children. If your child unintentionally eats an edible, try to call the Poison Control Hotline 1-800-222-1222. If your child is experiencing severe symptoms call 911 or go to an emergency room right away.
