COVID-19 Update
At the KCSD Board Meeting on Feb. 7, the Board of Education approved a revised Plan for Safe Return to In-Person Instruction. Effective Feb. 8, 2022, masks are recommended for everyone inside school buildings. All KCSD students, staff and visitors will have the option to wear masks. MASKS ARE STILL REQUIRED ON ALL SCHOOL BUSES PER FEDERAL ORDER.

VACCINE INFORMATION
The COVID-19 vaccine is approved for children ages 5 years and up. For information on getting your child vaccinated against COVID-19, please visit the Northern Kentucky Health Department’s website at www.nkyhealth.org.
TEST TO STAY
Our Test to Stay program in partnership with Ethos Laboratories will continue. This program has created pathways for students to continue in-person learning and extracurricular activities without spreading the virus. Please click here for more information on this program. Thank you, School Counselors! National School Counseling Week is Feb. 7–11, 2022
National School Counseling Week 2022, “School Counseling: Better Together,” sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), will be celebrated from Feb. 7–11, 2022, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.

Simon Kenton students win awards from KY Martin Luther King Jr. State Commission
Congratulations to the following Simon Kenton High School students, who won Martin Luther King Jr. student awards from the Kentucky Martin Luther King Jr. State Commission.

Building on Dr. King's passion and leadership, students were asked to creatively express how reflecting on the past can help build a brighter future – in their own life and in the lives of others. Students reflected on Dr. King's legacy of service to explore innovative approaches to positive social change.
The awards were announced during a virtual ceremony.

Nominations open for 2023 KY Teacher of the Year
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2023 Kentucky Teacher Awards, sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Education and Valvoline Inc.
Any full-time public school teacher in the state with at least three years of experience is eligible. Nominations may be submitted via this Google Form.
Teachers may be nominated by students, parents, teaching peers, principals, superintendents or anyone from the community who has an interest in honoring an outstanding educator.
