CHILI COOK-OFF
The Spirit Committee is sponsoring a Chili Cook-off and fall dessert competition on Friday, October 12. Bring your entry to the KIVA that morning. At lunch, purchase tickets for $5 to eat and vote on the best chili and the best dessert. All proceeds will go towards Space Camp scholarships. If you are entering the competition, please e-mail Mary Beth West
(mary.west@ ps.k12.ar.us) with the name of your dish by Wednesday, October 10. You do not have to enter a dish to purchase a ticket, enjoy lunch, and vote for the best!
Message from the Boss...
Teachers,
We will have Faculty Meeting on Monday, October 1st. I have a proposal for R.E.A.L. Panthers to share.
October 2nd 6th grade PLC's. October 3rd Essential and 5th grade PLC's.
No PLC's the week of October 8th. This will give you the opportunity to get grades and report cards completed.
Coming up is National Custodian Day (October 2nd) Please be sure to take care of them, students can make cards, etc. They do so much for us we need to show them.
I hope everyone has a restful and blessed weekend!
Love you,
Casey Hanna
FIELD TRIPS
**Field Trips need to be requested as normal. Please make sure the correct date format is used. For example, 01/01/2019. We need accurate counts for students and teachers. Please do not estimate. We need to be notified at least a week in advance of any changes to the number of riders.
**We are only able to provide five drivers per day. Once we have reached our limit for a particular day, field trips will be closed.
**Trips should be scheduled to leave no earlier than 8:30AM. ALL trips should return to the school before 2:00PM. These times will allow for potential traffic delays.
**Incidental fees (i.e. Entrance or admittance fees) for drivers will be be covered by the school or a receipt(s) from the driver to be reimbursed will be sent to the building principal for processing.
**If more buses are requested than are needed and a driver has already been scheduled for the trip, the school will be responsible for the pay of the extra driver.
**Teachers/Sponsors are responsible for the behavior of the students while on the trip. Students and staff need to remain seated while the bus is moving.
**Teachers/Sponsors need to check the bus at the end of the trip to make sure their students have not left personal items, such as backpacks, instruments, cell phones, or trash on the bus.
Report Card Information
With the first marking period ending on October 12th, the following schedule should be followed:
Elementary and Middle School Buildings (K-6th)
All grades should be posted by teachers by 8 a.m. on Monday, October 15th. Report cards will be processed, printed, and distributed to teachers by noon on Tuesday, October 16th.
Report cards will be handed out to parents at Parent/Teacher conferences.
If any report card is needed before that time for an early conference, the teacher should let the registrar know so it can be made available.
