Important Message!
- Twitter: Teachers cannot take and post pictures of students to their personal twitter page. Many of you use ClassDojo and you are good to go. If you have a picture of something of your students doing something great and want it posted to twitter, we can post to the L.E.S. Twitter page. Thanks.
- Here is the this week's Math Memo.
- TAC Tip of the Week: Report Cards - Two things to review before MP1 Report Cards are 1- Check your list of students by clicking Grade Reporting > Report Card. If any students are missing from the class list, inform your master scheduler. Accurate attendance lists do not always equal an accurate report card list so this is important to check. 2- Check your Report Card Average tab for each class to verify the report card average percentages are set up correctly. Once the report card window opens, you may Load from Grade book multiple times if student scores change. Be aware the Override box should not be checked if you want to load a new letter grade and/or a new numerical average. The only way a new numerical average will be loaded into database is if another Load from Grade book is done AND the override box is unchecked. These averages are important when calculating final grades. To see a summary of what was entered, click the Report Card Summary icon on the upper right of the Report Card Entry screen. Please submit a Technology Helpdesk Ticket or contact Michelle Graham or Lori Wyman in Assessment & Accountability.
- Elementary Math: McDaniel College is offering its Math Instructional Leader Program completely online. It can be combined with and A & S certification program or Gifted and Talented certification program for a master's degree.
- Elementary Math: District wide fourth and fifth grade collaborative planning groups have been formed. Anyone is invited to join in planning their units at any time during the year. No prior registration is required for participation, however, if participants would like to receive credit, they must attend every session starting this week in order to put in the 15 hours required for credit. Planning sessions generally are generally two weeks prior to the start of a unit. Please share this with your teachers. The next fourth grade session is this Thursday, 10/26, and the next fifth grade session is today, Monday 10/23. Teachers who have attended the planning sessions in the past have found them to be very valuable whether they received credit.
