⭐ To Do Items ⭐
1. ALL STAFF MEMBERS, please complete the Georgia School Personnel Survey by February 2. Sign off in the front office that you have completed the survey.
https://gshs.gadoe.org/personnel
This is a survey for ALL staff members! This is a part of our CCRPI score and counts for our School Climate Score. The Georgia School Personnel Survey was developed to measure perceptions of school climate among staff members at your school. Your opinion is very important to us. Your survey responses are confidential and will be combined with the survey responses of other staff members to identify areas in need of improvement at your school. It should only take ten or fifteen minutes to complete the survey. Thank you for your time and participation. Each school must have a 75% participation rate on the Georgia Student Health Survey and the Georgia School Personnel Survey. Failure to meet the 75% participation rate on these two surveys will result in a 0.00 score, which will significantly reduce a school’s School Climate Star Rating.
2. Please add the following information to your weekly communication with parents.

The deadline is January 31st!

Georgia Parent Survey
The Georgia Parent Survey was developed to measure parent perceptions of school climate at your child’s school. Your opinion is very important to us. Your survey responses are confidential and will be combined with the survey responses of other parents at your child’s school to identify areas in need of improvement. It should only take ten or fifteen minutes to complete the survey. Thank you for your time and participation. Please complete the survey by clicking here https://gshs.gadoe.org/parents.
Statewide Severe Weather Drill
We will have our statewide severe weather drill on Feb. 7th at 10:00am. Please review the severe weather plan in our Eastvalley Community page under the safety and security tab. Click on Severe Weather to pull up our school plan. Review your location with your students prior to our drill. We will use our Centegix alert system in addition to making the announcement. It will be a "code white."
Which form do I need for different items?
We know there are a lot of new requirements and they are confusing! We are always happy to help with these forms!
- If you have a guest speaker or performance coming in, 2024.School Initiatives Vetting Form.docx
- For someone coming in to volunteer (work with students), Volunteer Application
- All events need to be added to the Eastvalley Calendar with this form submitted to Nicole. Calendar Request Form
Visitors and Volunteers
Let the ladies in the office know if you are expecting visitors or volunteers. Many times parents will come in and tell us that they are volunteering. We always ask if the teacher is expecting them or if they have an appointment. They almost always say yes (sometimes this is not the case) and we send them to your room thinking you are expecting them and you are not. We are happy to help protect your instructional time by telling them that they must make an appointment with you!
Retention Procedures
It is time to start planning for our possibly retention students. If you have data to support that a student is a candidate for retention, please follow the following guidelines:
January:
- The student should already have had a RTI meeting and the process is initiated.
- You will need to send home a proficiency concern letter. Please email Nicole the name of the student and the language needed for the letter. It is highly suggested to call the parent before sending the letter of concern to explain the continued proficiency concerns.
- Continue the RTI process and review data to plan for next steps.
- If the RTI data suggests that the student is still a strong candidate for retention, you will need to schedule a Proficiency Conference. Please email Nicole for the proficiency conference letter and summary sheet that will need to be sent to parents.
- Retention Conferences are held. Please email Nicole on students who will need a retention conference so we can schedule with all involved parties.
- Education plans are sent home as needed.
Behavior Celebration
During your morning meeting, please encourage students to demonstrate SOARing behavior this quarter in order to attend the quarterly behavior celebration on March 15th. Students who do not receive a major office referral will be able to attend.
