Principal Johnson's Message
Greetings Sweetwater Families:
Gwinnett parents and guardians may submit their decision about how their children will learn during second semester, which begins January 6. Like this semester, families may select either in-person instruction at school or digital learning at home. As students and families are familiar with these two options and what they entail, the decisions families make will be for the entire semester. ALL Parents are asked to complete the survey even if you want your child to continue In-Person or Digital Learning. This will allow our school an opportunity to work on scheduling and classroom preparations.
The Spring Instructional Preference Questionnaire is now available in your Parent Portal account. It will remain open through 11:59 p.m. on November 15.
In most cases, your preference will be displayed the next school day. Please note that what you see indicated in the Parent Portal as your decision will serve as confirmation of your selection. However, you can make a change to your selection through the deadline.
If you do not have a parent portal account, please go to the school district website for information or contact our Sweetwater PIC, Dr. June Harris at 7708067814.
I know that each family’s reason for selecting in-person or digital is quite personal and one that requires a lot of thought—especially since this choice is for the entire 2nd semester. To assist you in your decision-making for next semester, I am attaching our SMS Parent/Student Guide to In-Person. This guide details how we are currently operating with the number of students that we have face to face. Depending on the number of students that we have who elect to return to in-person learning for next semester, there may be adjustments made. As an additional resource, you will also recall that COVID-19 Information by School is available on the GCPS website under the Return to Learning Hub.
