Hello Northpoint families:
Welcome to the month of November! We enjoyed the last Saturday in October with a wonderful fall party hosted by our PTO. The kiddos played games, had snacks, danced, and spent a lot of time at the petting zoo holding bunnies, guinea pigs, a snake, and a crocodile. Thank you to our generous families for the time and efforts they put into planning and hosting this event and for bringing their students on a busy Halloween weekend.
As this week concludes, so will most of our fall visits to Wargo Nature Center. The students have learned about differences and similarities found in natural life, the food chain, weather, predators and prey, and outdoor survival. Due to rain last week, we postponed one group. Those parents have been notified of the rescheduled date.
As we usher in November, I can feel the air changing! Please be sure your children are dressed for the weather. We will be going out for recess unless there is steady rain or the temperature is 0 degrees F/-10 degrees F windchill or lower. In addition, children will not be allowed in the building prior to 9:10 a.m. if they are being dropped off.
Next week, we will celebrate Veterans Day by creating messages of appreciation for neighboring businesses and the Edgewood community. Each class will be creating a craft that we will share with our friends immediately north of the school building and on Wednesday of next week, we will do an outdoor parade around Edgewood to show our respect for all who have served our country.
Finally, please remember this weekend is the end of daylight savings time and we turn our clocks back by one hour. Enjoy the extra hour!
Have a wonderful week, and please stay in touch with any needs!
