Moving to Hybrid Learning Model
At this time, FCPS is planning to move forward with the hybrid plan. Students are expected to return as part of an in-person hybrid model on Tuesday, February 16. To provide time for our instructional teams to transition to the hybrid model, Wednesday, February 3, and Wednesday, February 10, will be asynchronous learning days. Your child will work independently those two days using plans from the teacher in their homeroom schoology course.
When we transition to the hybrid learning model on February 16, all students (virtual & hybrid) will follow our new schedules:

School Enrollment
The FCPS Department of Student Services is now receiving requests for transfers to schools outside of a student's home attendance district for the 2021-2022 school year. Requests to transfer from a student's home school district must be made by parents/legal guardians. Guidelines for requests are outlined in FCPS Regulations 400-15 and 400-78
Parents/guardians must apply for an out-of-district transfer annually. Therefore, if your child is currently attending a school out of your attendance district, you must complete and submit an application if you would like to request that your child remain at that school.
If a school's enrollment is over capacity, it is necessary to restrict out-of-district student transfers to those schools. This includes students whose daycare providers are located outside their assigned attendance area.
Please click here to see school enrollment information: 2021-2022 restricted schools
Out-of-district requests submitted as the result of school redistricting by the Board of Education may be denied.
Parents or guardians who wish to request an out-of-district transfer for the 2021-2022 school year must apply by completing an out-of-district application. The applications are available in English and Spanish. The application can also be found online at http://www.fcps.org under the "For Families and Students" tab. The application window is open until March 1, 2021. Families will be notified of the decision by April 1, 2021.
If you need assistance, please call (240) 236-2493.
Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather, students will continue to engage in virtual instruction using the schedule that is currently in effect -- the schedule for all virtual or the schedule for the hybrid model.
An announcement cancelling small group instruction will be made by 5 a.m. on inclement weather days, and those students will also participate in virtual learning for the day.
If the weather event is significant enough to warrant closing FCPS offices, then an announcement will be made that the entire system is closed and NO virtual instruction will occur. This will be considered a "snow day" and the day will be made up as outlined in the FCPS Calendar Handbook.
For more information, please refer to FCPS Regulation 400-02: Closing of School due to Weather, Maintenance or Other Reasons.
Coronavirus Dashboard
FCPS has added a link on the school system's web homepage to the Maryland Department of Health's Coronavirus Dashboard. The dashboard features a Schools Data tab that serves as a resource for anyone who wants information about COVID outbreaks in school buildings.
Schools are listed as having an outbreak when the following occur:
*At least two confirmed COVID-19 cases among students/teachers/staff within a 14-day period, epidemiologically linked outside of household contacts; or
*Three or more classrooms or cohorts with cases from separate households that meet the classroom/cohort outbreak definition, occurring within 14 days; or
*Five percent or more unrelated students/teachers/staff with confirmed COVID-19 within a 14-day period (minimum of 10 unrelated students/teachers/staff).
FCPS also continues to link to the dashboard at www.fcps.org/update.
Need help during the school day?
Learning Lab mentors will be available daily for any student who needs extra support from 9 am-4 pm. Go to meet.google.com and enter team-myes.
