Abraham Lincoln!
Hero or Not?
Abraham is a hero.
Abraham Lincoln was a hero for several reasons. Overcoming many tragic events such as his the death of his mother when he was young, three of his four sons surviving, the death of his true love Ann Rutledge, and his sister’s short life, he managed to stand up for the rights of slaves and keep our country together. He brought a nation torn back together again without allowing our nation to totally fall apart. Issuing the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863 which was a key factor in abolishing slavery. Unfortunately, he was the president of the U.S., during these tragic times. Even with criticizing cabinet members, Abraham Lincoln helped to free the slaves. Today he is looked upon as a hero for many of us, especially those who still might be slaves today if it hadn’t been for him.
