The Falcon
Fieldstone Middle School * December 7, 2021
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this finds you well and enjoying the beginning of the winter season. The first trimester ends today, and we couldn't be more pleased by the way in which our students have reacclimated to a typical school year while managing restrictions imposed by the pandemic.
However, with the recent uptick in COVID cases around the globe, combined with the arrival of winter weather, it's important that we remain diligent with our COVID safety practices. Aligned to CDC guidance, students are socially distanced whenever possible, masks are worn at all times (except while outdoors, eating, drinking, or during intense physical activities), and we remain diligent with our cleaning and disinfecting practices. It's our hope that these safety practices will minimize the transmission of illnesses throughout the school year.
First trimester report cards will be available through the Realtime parent portal at 4:00 on December 17th. We encourage parents and students to utilize the information provided as the catalyst for conversations about setting both academic and personal goals.
On behalf of the entire FMS community, we wish you a very healthy and happy holiday season. Thank you for your continued support of our programs, and please don't hesitate to reach out to us if there is anything that we can do to assist you or your children.
Please see below for the many reasons why it's great to be a Falcon.
All the best,
Gina McCormack

Veterans Day at FMS
Our students observed Veterans Day through a number of curricular connections. Our fifth graders met with Ms. Marsigliano’s grandfather, Mr Kenneth Florio. The fact that he presented virtually did not diminish the impact of this meeting for our students. Mr. Florio shared his experiences while serving in the Navy during the Korean War. After hearing of the many ways in which he served our country, students asked thoughtful and insightful questions. Although the featured picture is from a previous in-person visit, Mr. Florio remains vibrant and committed to sharing his experiences.

Safety Reminders
Because of the number of students who walk to their homes or pick-up locations at dismissal time, parents are reminded to exercise caution when parked and subsequently pulling out on sidestreets in the surrounding area.
Yearbooks can be purchased by going online at www.yearbookforever.com and entering our school name.
The following information is for parents of 8th graders:
- The "through the years" school-related pictures should be uploaded by January 11th.
- Each student is asked to bring in a baby picture by January 11th for inclusion in the yearbook. Please be sure to write his/her name on the back.
- A dedication page can be created for graduating eighth graders by clicking on "Create a Personal Page."
