Communication Across Cultures
The Chicago School of Professional Psychology & Become, Inc
Free Workshop - April 19 - 9AM until Noon!
Better understanding for all...
This workshop will teach Social and Emotional Intelligence (SEI) and how to bolster SEI through hands-on, interactive, and experiential activities. Participants will 1) be able to define emotional intelligence and social intelligence, 2) participate in activities that help them explore their own emotional and social intelligence, and 3) identify a path for enhancing emotional and social intelligence in self and clients/program participants.
Social and Emotional Intelligence (SEI) is responsible for over 75% of career success (Goleman, 1995), including leadership, working on teams, and providing quality social services. Without this skill set, people would have difficulty making decisions, building work alliances and healthy relationships, less focus, and lower quality work. Not only does the lack of SEI diminish these abilities but increasing our SEI enhances our capacity in these areas. Furthermore, it “gets the creative juices flowing” and bolsters our creativity in work and in life in general. All of these processes and activities are core parts of our professional lives. Thus, working on our SEI will both boost our evaluations and enrich our lives as professionals and personhood.
