QSI Skopje: The Scoop
July 13, 2021
Greetings from the 2021-22 Director
Dear QSI Skopje Community,
My name is Heather Sherwood and I have the honor and privilege of serving as the Director of QSI International School of Skopje for the 2021-22 school year. I have been part of the QSI organization for 6 years and served as the Director of Instruction at Baku International School in Baku, Azerbaijan for the last 3 years. I am passionate about teaching and learning, and I believe in the mission and vision of QSI - Success for All. Joining me in Skopje are my husband, Stephen, and our three children: Miley – 13, Micah – 7, and Matthew – 4. We are excited to be part of this incredible community!
My family and I arrived in Skopje in mid-June and are getting to know the school, city, and culture of our host country. During the first couple of weeks, I had the opportunity to work with Josh to learn more about the school community. I feel lucky to have spent this time learning about QSI Skopje as I begin planning for the 2021-22 school year.
I would like to welcome all new families to QSI Skopje! I can tell you with excitement that you are joining a phenomenal community of dedicated, passionate, and caring students and staff. QSI Skopje is a special place to be and we are glad you are joining us.
Below you will find some brief information about the start of the 2021-22 school year. More information will be sent out in The Scoop at the beginning of August. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. I am here to serve and support this wonderful community.
I hope you find time to relax and rejuvenate while enjoying your family this summer. I look forward to meeting everyone in August.
Mrs. Garrett will be joining Mr. Garrett in Kazahkstan, so there will only be one new teacher joining our team. Stephen Sherwood will be the newest addition to the QSI Skopje teaching staff. He has been working as an Intensive English teacher at the QSI school in Baku and is excited to join this incredible community. Stephen has years of experience working with students with various needs and brings a lot of positive energy. He will be a great addition to the teaching team.

2021-22 School Opening Plan
The Ministry of Education has not released re-opening guidelines for schools but we expect to learn more information closer to September. The health and safety of our community are our top priority as we open our campus in August. We will continue all safety precautions established last year and plan to resume a normal full-day schedule at the start of the school year.
The re-opening guidelines will be sent to all families in The Scoop at the beginning of August. Thank you for your support in ensuring our community stays safe.
