National Picture Book Month - November
National Picture Book Month is a great way to share all sorts of new and exciting picture books. Here are some of my personal favorites from 2013 so far:

Book NewsBarbara Parks, 66, author of the famed Junie B. Jones series, passed away on Fri., Nov. 15th. Her series has always (and remains) very popular with beginners readers as they identify with her Junie B. characters. Charlotte Zolotow, 98, was a noted author and publisher of children's book. She passed away on Nov. 19th. Over the course of the career she wrote many books and published those by many other authors. Just the Facts.....
As of end of the October, students have checked out 11,216 items this semester! Even with less students this year and the fact that due to textbook we started checkout a week later this year, that is still over 1000 items more than last year! Thank goodness for our volunteers who help us try to get them back on the shelves!
