- What is a lesson you have learned from an older person? How will you use that lesson now? How will the lesson impact you in the future?
- You see the same little girl sitting by herself every day. How do you convince her to be a part of the games? How do you convince your friends to include her in your games?
- Your class wants to perform acts of kindness. What are two acts of kindness you want to suggest and why?
Entry Requirements
- Entry must be written on one of the three topics listed above.
- Each entry must have the student's name and grade clearly written on each page.
- 3rd grade entries must have at least three paragraphs with four sentences per paragraph.
- 4th grade entries must have at least four paragraphs with five sentences per paragraph.
- 5th grade entries must have at least five paragraphs with seven sentences per paragraph.
- Each entry must be submitted on white paper (lined or unlined).

May is Older American's Month
Essay Contest for 4th and 5th grade students
Due Date: March 21, 2018 - turn in to Mrs. Jones
Students are asked to write a one page essay about their favorite living senior (age 60 or older) who has impacted their life. Include how and/or why the senior adult has impacted their life. The essay should be no more than one page in length.
