Leadership Meetings
Our first leadership meeting is Wednesday night at 6:30 at Mrs. Walker's house - 2107 American Drive. We will have fajitas - bring your own drinks. Sorry for the late notice on this - I've been protesting that fact that school is starting soon.
Please let me know if you can make it.
Pictures Needed!
We've made some awesome additions to our staff this year - here they are!
April Woodburn - Counselor
Dan Adler - ELA Specialist, 8th Grade ELA
Originally, I'm from Ida, Michigan, and I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2004. I’ve taught ELA for 8 years in North and South Carolina, and I’ve spent the last six years coaching college cross country and track. I love helping students achieve more than they think is possible, and I’m excited to help students grow and prepare them for high school. I love reading and running - my favorite authors are Ryan Holiday and F.Scott Fitzgerald. I ran a 2:44 marathon in April and plan on running in the Boston marathon next April.
Jackie Chester - SPED
Darren Hylander - College and Career Readiness/ Viking Valor
Stacy Kurth - 8th Grade Science
Ryan Martin - Math Specialist, 6th Grade Math
Cory Schwartz - Mythbuster /Debate, PE
It is a great honor to serve the students and parents of Lago Vista ISD. I am excited about the upcoming school year and I know there are great things ahead as we continue to make LVISD the best place to learn and work!
Please let me share some personal information about myself. I have been married for 22 years to my beautiful wife Cara. Cara is currently serving Pflugerville ISD as an Executive Director. We have two sons, Kyle (19 y/o) and Kameron (15 y/o). Kyle is currently serving in the United States Marine Corps in San Clemente, CA. Kameron will be a sophomore at Georgetown High School where he plays football and basketball.
I strive to always be the best husband, father, teacher, and coach possible. I have a passion for education, athletics, and coaching. In my spare time I enjoy restoring my 1972 Volkswagen Van.
Again, thank you so much to the Lago Vista family and the opportunity to serve your community.
Jessica Weyant - PE/ Sports Medicine
Jennifer Baker - Functional Academics
I was raised in the TN Appalachian Mountains and taught school for 5 years in TN and FL. I had the privilege of staying home with our children for 16 years.
This is my 6th year teaching in Lago Vista and I have taught at the elementary and intermediate campuses. It just seems natural for me to move up to MS.
I feel very blessed to get to live and work in this community.
Now that my husband David and I are official “empty nesters” we are having a blast traveling, listening to live music, spending time with friends and family and hanging on Lake Travis.
