These Leopards have demonstrated one or more of Linden's core values: Respect, Responsibility, Cooperation and Citizenship. They all earned Linden Leopard Paws and placed them in our new "Paw Bin" located in the front lobby. Each student's Paw was picked this week, and we recognize each of them for their efforts! Linden Welcomes Author Matt Landis
We are excited to welcome Author and Tamanend teacher Matthew Landis to Linden on Thursday Jan. 16. He will be presenting to grade 5 and 6 and doing a writing workshop for 30 students. For more information about his visit watch this video .
Girl Leadership Book Club
The Girls Leadership Girl & Grown-up Book Club for 2nd through 6th graders is a fun way to connect with your girl and the Linden community. The books selected by Girls Leadership encourage girls to practice leadership skills like communication, facilitation, and healthy risk taking in the context of a fun book club. News from the Library
In 5th grade library class, students chose a topic related to Exploration (to go along with their Social Studies and Reading Curriculum) Using PebbleGo Next and books, they had to identify a problem that their explorers faced . We used the Makers on the Move cart to design a solution to their problem. Thanks to Mrs. Logue for helping with this project as well!
Mrs. Fetter's 1st Grade exploring high and low notes on the keyboard after writing their own line of cow “mooosic”!
Mrs. Shinkunas' 1st Graders are exploring the properties of objects in their Solids, Liquids, and Gases unit in science.
The Students are using blocks to explore 3-dimensional shapes in their current math unit.
As Mrs. Rubeo's class begins their fantasy unit, students are matching fantasy motifs with the correct definition.

Kindergarten Registration for 2020-2021
Kindergarten registration is open! Families of new students who are eligible to enroll in kindergarten in the 2020-2021 school year are invited to begin the registration process. Family Game Night
Back by popular demand!
Bring your families to Linden for a free night of playing games with Busy Bee Toys on Friday,
January 24th, at 6:30 PM.
There will be fun and interactive games for all ages so siblings are welcome. Hope to see you there!
We will have a basket at the front door to collect voluntary cash donations to give local kids in need the joy of toys.

As a reminder, the school store is opened every Friday morning from 8:45-9:05AM. It is run by 6th grader(s) and his/her parent(s). There are still open slots from mid-January until the end of the school year. Take a look at the SignUp Genius below and see if you can lend a hand!

CB SPORTS CLINICS
Children's Workshop Theatre
The CB East Patriot Players are once again hosting our Children's Theatre Workshop on Saturday, February 22, 2020. It is a fantastic theatrical exploration day for the elementary school kids run by the Patriot Player high school students! All proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I have attached a registration form and would greatly appreciate it if you could share the information with your school community. Registration forms are due Feb. 1. January Boomerang Asset
January Boomerang Award Asset: Equality and Justice
The Boomerang Youth Recognition Award is a district-wide monthly program which recognizes and honors youth in our community for exemplifying one of the chosen Developmental Assets for the school year. The month of January is Asset#27- Equality and Justice- Young person places a high value on promoting equality and reducing hunger and poverty.
Nomination forms can be found online. Please email to Mrs. Dempsey: ddempsey@cbsd.org or send to school in an envelope addressed "To Guidance." Nomination forms are due by Wednesday, January 15th.
