Virtual Virginia - Mr. Sproles
PARENT NEWSLETTER
Students are expected to demonstrate mastery of skills in a number of ways, including completion of 'dropbox' assignments, participation in discussion boards and live online chat sessions, and traditional tests and quizzes (administered online).
It is very important for you to know that I really strive to help my students master the material. If they do poorly on a graded item, I urge them to contact me so that I can help them. I frequently can help with the concept(s) they are struggling with and then allow them to resubmit the grade item for more credit. Please encourage your child to monitor his or her grades often and take advantage of opportunities to improve!
COMMUNICATION IS KEY!
Easy ways for students and parents to reach me ...
I also use an online web conferencing site (called Collaborate) to talk with my students. This software allows me to display student work on-screen so I can help students correct errors, solve additional practice problems, and get help in areas where they have experienced difficulty.
I am available in Collaborate from 8am to 3pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays as well as Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 8pm to 10pm.
The URL for my online Collaborate session is http://elm.elluminate.com/HOSTEDVDE/join_meeting.html?meetingId=1247984542225
I welcome communication from students and parents - if I can be of help in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me at the email or phone number below!
