An Important Message About Field Trips
A Message from our High School Counselor
World of Work Wednesdays! - We need your help!
November is National Career Awareness Month
World of Work Wednesdays are 1-hour, virtual events where a panel of professionals take questions, interview-style from me, the School Counselor. Questions will be pre-released to those who participate in the panel.
We hope to have 2-3 professionals, within the same field, on each panel and hope to hold multiple events throughout the school year. That way, we can present on various career fields!
If you are interested in participating in a panel, complete this survey, and I will contact you.
If you know someone who would be a great person to share their career with our community, share this survey with them, and I will reach out!
Let's build a partnership for the success of our students!
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Tegan Thacker, M.S., P.P.S.

The Read Aloud Family by Sarah MacKenzie
Connecting deeply with our kids can be difficult in our busy, technology-driven lives. Reading aloud offers us a chance to be fully present with our children. It also increases our kids’ academic success, inspires compassion, and fortifies them with the inner strength they need to face life’s challenges. As Sarah Mackenzie has found with her own six children, reading aloud long after kids are able to read to themselves can deepen relationships in a powerful way.
Founder of the immensely popular Read-Aloud Revival podcast, Sarah knows first-hand how reading can change a child’s life. In The Read-Aloud Family, she offers the inspiration and age-appropriate book lists you need to start a read-aloud movement in your own home. From a toddler’s wonder to a teenager’s resistance, Sarah details practical strategies to make reading aloud a meaningful family ritual. Reading aloud not only has the power to change a family—it has the power to change the world.

10 tips to help you survive a busy homeschool season
This fall was bonkers, you guys. In early October, I wrote an article about how this fall was our busiest season yet. I shared our family’s plan for thriving- rather than merely surviving- the busy season.
I am happy to report that we are on the other side of the chaos… and we [mostly] enjoyed our crazy-busy fall. We are, however, looking forward to a slow holiday season.
Unlike the last few months, our winter schedule has plenty of white space and we are going to relish the margin.
With the holidays- and the holiday madness- on the near horizon, I thought it would be helpful to share my top 10 tips to help with a busy homeschool season.
These are the tips and tricks that saved our homeschool bacon these past few months. If you have a wild holiday season on the docket, these ideas may work for you!
