Remember to Send a Mask with Your Child Daily

Please remember to send your child to school with a mask each day. While we do keep extra masks for students who lose or forget their mask, supplies are limited. We recommend using cloth masks that can be washed and re-used. They are the most economical and earth-friendly!

    Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA)

The PTSA brings together parents, teachers and students to work toward the common goal of improving our school. They achieve this through different activities, such as: volunteering, hosting school functions, and fundraising to meet school needs.

This year, all PTSA meetings are on Zoom. To learn more about the PTSA, please attend our Zoom meeting on Tuesday (9/14) at 5:30 p.m. Zoom information will be sent out the night prior via ClassTag and our Blackboard text app.

We are also looking for a parent who might be interested in serving on the PTSA board as Secretary. There is lots of support, so no previous experience necessary! If you are interested, please attend our meeting on Tuesday.

    School Site Council (SSC)

The SSC is another great way for families to get involved at school. The SSC serves as an advisory council for the school. Made of equal parts parents and staff, the SSC reviews school goals, programs, and budgets. Currently, we are looking for three more parents who would be interested in serving on this council. Please reach out to Ms. Aure at kaure@vusd.org if you are interested.

    Volunteer Orientation & Training

We will hold our next Volunteer Orientation &Training this Friday (September 17) at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom. While we are not currently able to have volunteers on-site, we are permitted to have volunteers attend field trips and do volunteer work at home. Currently, our classes are considering field trips that support areas of study, and our grade 5/6 team is hoping to attend their first field trip in the next few weeks!

Volunteers MUST have completed a Volunteer Orientattion & Training in order to chaperone field trips. Fingerprinting is not required, but highly encouraged. Fingerprinted volunteers will be selected first to assist. Volunteers who have not been fingerprinted and are chaperoning students must stay with a staff member at all times.

If you are interested in attending, Zoom information will be sent out the night prior via ClassTag and our Blackboard text app.

    Global Learning Charter School

Global Learning Charter School (GLC) is a public charter school committed to offering relevant, personalized learning opportunities to prepare students to be global-ready in work and life. GLC opened in August of 2017. Currently, we serve approximately 440 students in grades K-8.
