Ta-Nehisi Coates Lecture: "A Deeper Black: Race in America"
- Wednesday, October 26, 2016, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Liacouras Center (3 leadership hours).
Ta-Nehisi Coates is an American writer, journalist, and educator. He will be coming to Temple to talk about systemic racism that is inseparable from the growth of the nation: the racist policies that have plundered black bodies, black property, and black lives for economic and social gain. How can we reconcile these acts, many of them ongoing, with the supposedly postracial country some claim we are moving towards?
If you need tickets for this event, we have a limited amount available. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
- Saturday, November 5, 2016, 9:30 PM to 2:00 PM in Student Center Room 200 (7 leadership hours).
The conference focuses on building self-awareness and developing tools to understand oneself as a leader. Students will be able to improve their leadership skills through our workshops and by hearing from keynote speaker Antonio Neves.
This year we are happy to announce that Antonio Neves will be our keynote speaker! Neves is a speaker, award-winning journalist and leadership expert will be sharing how students can use their strengths, communities, and uniqueness to become amazing leaders.
