Teacher Talk

We have had an exciting few weeks. We went to the Challenger Space Center and found a new comet we named Bueche 27. Students went into a Star Lab to view the wonders in the sky. A huge thank you to Mrs. Guttenberg and Mrs. Riedel for helping on the trip.

We had a BLAST at the Fall Party. We had so much fun we couldn't finish it all in one day. One student said this was the best party ever! Again thank you to the many parents that made it happen: Mrs. Zolen, Mrs. Boldog, Mrs. Stephenson, Mrs. Cobb, Mrs. Bower, Mr. Guttenberg, and Mrs. Pawlak.

Conferences are coming up in a couple of weeks. Please make sure your time still works for you. Here is the link to double check your time if you need it.

Thank you to those who filled out and returned the short parent survey was sent home in the Friday Folders. This year we are having the students lead their own conference.

We have started building our Vex Rovers to collect samples from the moon. Students are in groups and have designed their bots specifically for this task. I've been amazed at how quickly students have made the basic rover. They will be individualizing it to their specifications.

As a PBIS reward students were randomly chosen to compete against Mr. Boyton to win prizes. Our very own Mark R. competed and won some coupons at area restaurants. Way to Go Mark!

The class has also earned a marble party. They voted on what they wanted the party to be. They want to watch a movie, eat pizza, and wear comfy clothes. I've planned the party for Nov. 20th. I'm asking that students donate $2.00 toward the cost of the pizza. Thank you.

We will be starting a major research project that culminates in a wax museum. More information will be going home soon.
