Spirit Days
The Student Lighthouse Team met and chose to have one spirit day a month throughout the year. Here are the days they selected for this year.
January 24 - board/card game day
February 28 - stuffed animal day
March 21 - team shirt day
April 25 - class color day - each grade wears a different color
May 23 - crazy hair
June 13 - dress the decade 80s
Join us for a Parent Book Club hosted by Mrs. Lindsay
I am excited to offer a parent book club opportunity to anyone that is interested in spending four nights together beginning in February to engage in dialogue about the book, The Self-Driven Child by Bill Stixrud and Ned Johnson. We will meet on the following Tuesdays (2/21, 3/14, 4/18, and 5/16) at 6:30 PM for some thoughtful conversation and discussion.
The first 10 to sign-up will get a free book. If you are interested, complete the sign-up by January 31st . If you are one of the first 10 to sign up a book will be sent home with your child. The scheduled reading will be emailed to all participants prior to the first meeting. Click here to sign up!

Chess Wizards
It’s time to make your move! Winchester Chess Wizards is returning for the our next session beginning Feb 9th. For 10 weeks, you child will participate in epic chess games, fun and interactive lessons, tournaments, team matches, trivia, and more. Our specialized classes are a blast for everyone K through fifth. If your child is brand new to chess, wants to improve their skills, or already a master— Chess Wizards is the place for them! Space is limited so sign up soon!

Little Caesars Pizza Kits
This year the Northville Council PTA is selling Little Caesars Pizza Kits to support all of our students.
Pizza night just got a little more fun! Everyone in the family can help make pizza with these kits! Pre-measured and packaged ingredients to keep in your freezer until you need them. Great for sleepovers, pizza night,s or even the big game party.
Through February 15th, you can buy Pizza Kits to help us raise funds for the Northville Council PTA community engagement programs and your school's PTA as well. We need everyone’s help and it’s super easy to participate…

3.) Get meals that are fun to make and delicious to eat! Enjoy!
4.) Every kit we sell makes an impact. We earn $6.00 on every item sold so your participation makes a big impact. 80% of what is raised will go directly back to our school PTA and the remaining 20% will help fund Council PTA community engagement programs.
The school that sells the most pizza kits will win the Little Caesars Food Truck at an upcoming event.

Kindergarten Enrollment for 2023-24 School Year is now OPEN!
Please visit our Kindergarten Enrollment webpage to sign up for an appointment to
enroll your incoming Kindergarten student. Once you've signed up for an appointment, please return to the Enrollment webpage to complete the online portion of your pre-enrollment outlined in Steps 1-3. Winchester's enrollment dates are March 20, 21, 22.

NPS Parent Camp Saturday, February 4th
This year we have a wide variety of speakers that include our own Northville Public School experts focused on Northville-specific curriculum and systems. We will also have guest speakers which include outside therapists, clinicians, and special education specialists. A few of our guest speakers include Eric Hipple a former Detroit Lion and Mental Health Advocate, Kevin Fischer from Everybody Versus Stigma-Executive Director of NAMI, Dr. Michele Leno from Mind Matters on channel 20, and Kurt David a local Emmy winner, author, TV host, and producer who works with professional athletes having difficulty transitioning from the athletic world to "real world". Mr. David will be speaking on how to help our high school athletes transition when they do not continue playing competitive sports after high school.
Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run (GOTR) is back this spring! Girls in grades 3-5 will learn lessons supporting positive body image and self esteem, while building the skills to run a 5K. Sessions run Monday and Wednesday from 3:45-5p starting March 13 and ending May 24 and the cost the the season is $155, which includes registration in the 5K and the race t-shirt. Winchester Fun Run
We are excited to announce the return of the Winchester Fun Run, to be held on June 9, 2023 at 5:30pm on the playground. We received great feedback on last year's event and your generosity helped us raise more than $20,000 for Winchester PTA funded programs. Show our amazing Northville Public Schools Staff Members your appreciation and gratitude by entering them for a chance to win an afternoon off, with a district leader subbing in for them! You can choose from all building based staff members!
From NOW to May 2023, you can purchase tickets for any NPS staff member, at any school or NPS office building, to be entered into a drawing to enjoy an afternoon off and a goody bag bag from Michigan Educational Credit Union!

Northville Youth Network (NYN)
Northville Youth Network (NYN) provides valuable programs and services to the Northville Community such as education and awareness, referral services and case work services. As part of the ongoing Social Emotional education NYN provides to our community, they have included resources that are available for parents! Submit Pictures for Yearbook
The attached file provides details of how to submit pictures at https://studio.balfour.com/ezpix/ or using the Balfour ImageShare app. Images must be high-resolution .jpg or .png format.
The Yearbook Committee will review all photos and determine final yearbook content. We cannot guarantee that all submissions can be used (for example, low picture quality), but we do make every effort to utilize all images. We need and appreciate all picture submissions as these make up a large part of our yearbook each year! Please submit only high-resolution photos that are school related activities/clubs.

Infectious Disease Response to COVID 2022-23
Students and staff that contract COVID should follow the Health Department recommendations and isolate for five days from the date where symptoms were present or from the date of their positive rapid or PCR test. Isolation includes waiting to return to school until the isolation period has ended. It is also recommended that students or staff should wear a mask for 5 days past their isolation period. See MDHHS Graphic below.
Parents should notify their child’s school of the absence reason so that teachers are aware of the student's absence period and our nurses can follow the health department’s infectious disease requirements. NPS School Nurses are available should you have any questions.
