The football team carried the torch with wins agains Northwestern(8th grade) and Eastern(7th grade) on Tuesday night. We rounded off the week with volleyball against the orange team from down south.

8th Grade Recap:
The 8th grade team won a high scoring affair with the Northwestern Tigers, 42-20. After a slow start that watched the Tigers score on a 75 yard TD run while the Blue Devil defense was caught watching the paint dry. Thankfully, the Devils woke up, marched down the field, and took an 8-6 lead, and never looked back. Outstanding offensive efforts from running backs Calvin Condict and Cole Hussey, and some big time runs from QB Landon Spidel. Other than one other big play, the Devil defense played tough, behind linebackers Condict, Hussey, and Caleb Hare. Logan Hufhand and Isaac Vehikite wreaked havoc on the defensive line. 42 points is the most points scored this year, and the 8th grade is hoping for more offensive firepower next week against Heights
7th Grade Recap:
The 7th Grade Blue Devils dominated from beginning to end, defeating the Eastern Comets by a score of 38-0. Izayah Mahaney started off the scoring with a punt return for a TD, and over the course of the evening added a KO return for a touchdown and a rushing TD to cap off an impressive effort. Running backs Cole Hussey and Slade Springer added to the scoreboard, scoring TDs and 2pt conversions of their own. An outstanding defensive effort led by Will Wolford, Garrett Boyer, Karson Garst, Mahaney, and Hussey sparked another Blue Devil shutout. The Devils look to continue their dominating ways next Tuesday vs. Heights.

September 21, 2020 vs. Kokomo
In a dominating match, the Blue Devils used good serves and sound teamwork to defeat the Kats 25-8. The second set was a bit closer; with both teams tied 10-10 mid way. However, the Devils never let off and ride to a 25-15 win.
White Team:
White team started off slow, but worked together to win the first set. In the first set, Lily McCord scored 8 service points in a row which helped the Devils win 25-16. In set two, Hollynn Wilson, had 6 service points in a row to help the white team to a Blue Devil victory; 25-18.
September 23, 2020 vs. Hamilton Heights
The result certainly doesn't tell the story. The Huskies found a way to squeeze out the win in two sets. However, the Blue Devils put up a tremendous fight. Cora Rodibaugh and Lacey Bitner were hot from the service line. Movement, communication, and team work made for a very entertaining match. The Blue Devils get a chance at the MIC championship this Saturday at Hamilton Heights.
White Team
The White team fell behind early in both sets, which set up a difficult climb to keep up. Through two sets, the Blue Devils started to get things going; but it was too late as the Huskies claim the match in two sets. The Blue Devils get a chance at the MIC championship this Saturday at Hamilton Heights.
