September Advisory Theme--Compassion
Mrs. Straub, Mrs. Dellavolpe and Mrs. Lupacchino-Gilson’s Junior Class Advisories grouped together to share and reflect on Say Hello videos and conducted an activity for students on how to share kindness and compassion to all students. Having three new students (one from Colombia, one from Rhode Island, and one from Denmark) in just one of these advisory groups, the Juniors have already shown how welcoming and inclusive they are. As part of the activity, students put up post it notes with their ideas for how to show compassion and how to “break the ice” to make all students feel that they are not alone. This activity is one of many encouraged to be shared at all grade levels by Sandy Hook Promise.
