Message from Dr. Reilly
Farney Families,
We have heard from many of you about the amazing abundance of resources available on the Learning at Home platform. In order to help you plan for your child, our teachers have prepared a grade-level document to highlight what your child should be working on each week. It also indicates what items will be graded each week. TEA mandated that each district develop a plan for grading. Beginning April 13th, elementary teachers in CFISD are required to take one grade per subject each week. These will be processing grades only, did the child understand the information presented, etc. All teachers will also start sharing video mini-lessons to assist student understanding. The video will cover the content to be graded. Please know that how the grades will be calculated for the fourth marking period is pending at this time. Encourage your child to do their very best. If you have questions, teachers have shared "virtual" office hours where you can "pop in" to their online platform to have immediate assistance. Please see the grade-level planning document below.

Name That Book
The Name That Book List has been released for the 2020-2021 school year! The list is attached. These are great books to read for 2nd-5th grade students. Now is a perfect time for students to get started reading new books from the list! Happy reading!
Six Flags Read to Succeed
If you would like to participate in the Six Flags Read to Succeed program it is still open. To participate, your child needs to read for a total of 6 hours between now and April 17th.
• Register child at sixflags.com/books using code RZTUB
• By April 17, complete the online reading log for your child
• The free ticket to Six Flags Fiesta Texas will be emailed directly to you in May
Counselors’ Corner
Hello Farney Families,
As we continue to delve into this unchartered territory, please know that we are here for our Farney community. As counselors, we tell our kids all the time,“ Our job is to help you feel safe and happy at school.” Although we are not with you physically, know that we are only an email, phone call, or text message away to help however we are able. We miss our Farney Falcons and will be popping into our teachers’ Zoom meetings hoping to see those sweet faces. We know you are already facing many challenges and this may increase as time goes on. Be sure you are making the time to take care of yourself. This is one of the best things that you can do for your family. There are some Social Emotional Learning resources on the At Home Learning site. It can be a little overwhelming with all of the information that is floating around out there, so please let us know if you need a specific resource and know that we miss seeing you everyday.
We are all in this together, so if you ever need us, we are here for you! Our google voice numbers receive calls and texts so feel free to reach out.

April Core Essential Humility
This month’s core essential value is HUMILITY.
As you and your kids are in our temporary normal and most likely at home. Your school is continuing to provide our resources in a way that you can use! Click on the Sam Say It Video to see what he has to say about humility. Please feel free to share with your friends and neighbors...or anyone!
THANK YOU for making values a priority at home.
