It was a busy week! The 100th day of school, Fun Lunch, Valentine's Day parties and more! Our staff and students enjoyed Friday's Valentine's Day parties. Thank you to all of our parents who helped make Friday a successful and fun day for Kingsley with Fun Lunch and Valentine's Day parties!

Grove Children’s Preschool will hold open houses on Feb. 16 and Feb. 23

Will your child be 3 or 4 years old this August? Do you have a neighbor or friend with a future preschooler? Please share! Grove Children’s Preschool will hold an open house on Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 6-7 p.m. at Indian Trail School, 6235 Stonewall Ave., and on Wednesday, Feb. 23 from 6-7 p.m. at Henry Puffer School, 2220 Haddow Ave. Parents and guardians may tour the preschool, meet the staff, hear an overview of the program, and ask questions throughout the open house.

The open house will be in person with the following COVID-19 safety protocols observed:

• Parent/guardians only (no children may attend)

• Please wear a mask.

• Please attend the designated time slot according to last name:

• A-I: 6-6:20 p.m.

• J-Q: 6:20-6:40 p.m.

• R-Z: 6:40-7 p.m.

Grove Children’s Preschool tuition applications for the 2022-23 school year will open online at www.dg58.org/preschool on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 8 a.m. First priority applications are due Tuesday, March 8.

On Saturday, February 5th, some Kingsley 5th grade students performed in D58’s Solo & Ensemble Festival at Herrick Middle School. They have been learning their solos in weekly lessons, practicing diligently at home, and even working with a private instructor and piano accompanist outside of school. Please congratulate these band and orchestra students on their performances:

Calendar: There is school on Feb. 25, 2022!

District 58 updated its 2021-22 calendar last August. The updated calendar changed the date of the winter Teacher Institute Day. Last August, we emailed the updated calendar to families and posted it on our website. We realize some families might still have the old calendar, so we wanted to remind you of the following:

• Friday, Feb. 25 is a school day.
• Friday, March 4 is not a school day. (It's the County's Teacher Institute Day).
• Please access the official 2021-22 District 58 school year calendar here.
