GVHS Football District 1 Playoff Game at GVHS Moe DeFrank Stadium
Good Afternoon:
Our Garnet Valley football team has qualified for the District 1 playoffs and has earned a home playoff game. The Jags will take on CB West on Friday at Moe DeFrank Stadium at 7pm. The ticket price for this playoff football game is $5 for everyone including elementary school students and senior citizens. Please have exact change if possible. Passes of any sort will not be accepted. Below are some reminders about the expectations when attending athletic events at Moe DeFrank Stadium:
- Bags and backpacks are NOT allowed into the stadium during athletic events. Small purses or clutch bags are acceptable but are subject to search. Spectators will not be admitted with a bag or backpack.
- Outside food and drink is prohibited. Bottled drinks and food should be discarded prior to entering the stadium.
- No abusive or unruly behavior.
- The use of body paint is prohibited at PIAA District 1 Playoff events.
- No throwing of objects or any projectile in the stands or on the hill
- No use of any prohibited items (artificial noisemakers, unauthorized signs, etc...)
Please pay special attention to the last bullet point regarding signs. District 1 does not allow signs in playoff contests, this includes FatHeads, so please do not bring them. Additionally the last couple games the student section has attempted to run on the field by jumping the fence. Please understand that this behavior is illegal and our team can be punished for its occurrence. Additionally it is unsafe for our students, athletes, and game personnel.
Thank you for your continued support of our athletic teams and we expect you to be loud on Friday.
Sincerely,
Mr. Brunner

Garnet Valley CTC Quick Tip #9 2017-2018
Did you know? Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States (CDC). There are 1000 youth under the age of 18 who start smoking every day (www.cancer.org). 88 million non-smoking Americans are exposed to the secondhand smoke daily (CDC). E-Cigarettes and vapes have the presence of potentially toxic and carcinogenic chemicals that are also found in tobacco products (Medical Daily).
Call to action… We cannot become complacent. Talk to your children and teens about where you stand on their smoking or vaping. Support the Great American Smoke Out, 11/17/17. Click below for more ideas and information.

Leftover Halloween Candy Wanted
Mrs. Fecondo's 1st Grade Class will be collecting Halloween candy to donate to the USO at the Philadelphia International Airport. The candy collected will be handed out to our military personnel as they pass through our city to return home or on their way to an assignment. Candy can go a long way in putting a smile on someone's face! So if you see a great sale before or after Halloween, or if you have leftover candy at your house, please feel free to put them in the blue plastic box outside my room (161) until next the end of the day Friday, November 3.
