Thank you to our AMAZING PTO and Boosterthon staff! The students and staff enjoyed dancing the day away. It was so encouraging to have some normalcy with Boosterthon returning to school. The children showed off their dance moves while supporting Montgomery Elementary! We are so lucky to have such a committed parent community. After participating in 5 grade level dance challenges I will enjoy the 3 day weekend!
Best,
Amy

In celebration of "Read Across America", we will be reopening our Free Little Library at Montgomery Elementary. If you have some gently used books that you would like to donate, we are happy to accept them starting Tuesday, February 22nd through Friday, March 4th. Books can be brought in by the children and dropped off in the media center or left at our front doorway in a box marked "Free Little Library". Thank you for sharing literacy with all of our students. Our goal is for every child to go home with a book on Friday, March 4th (regardless of whether or not they were able to donate).

PLEASE NOTE - TIMES HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED
4th GRADE FAMILIES MARK YOUR CALENDAR
Wednesday, February 23
9:30am - 10:30am
Jeremy McDaniel, Photographer, will be here to photograph all
4th grade students for our annual 4th grade Group Photo. Jeremy will photograph
each student individually (due to social distancing) and then create a
group photo of our 4th graders and their teachers.
The photographer is suggesting the students wear something nice, but PLEASE stay away from GREEN clothing. He will be shooting the students on a green screen and while he assures us he can fix any color issues, it will make his life easier if you would just avoid wearing green on this day.
Since Jeremy has not given us a make up date,
please try to be here if you want to be included.
MAP SCORES
Parents/Guardians of 1st-4th graders, please look for your child's
winter MAP report in their ebackpack on Tuesday, February 15th at 4:00.
Dear Montgomery Families,
I'd like to share the following updates with you:
Boosterthon
Thank you to everyone who helped with this program, whether financially, through volunteer efforts, and/or through spreading the word. The Boosterthon program wrapped up today (Friday, February 18) and represents the PTOs primary fundraiser for the 2021 - 2022 school year. Proceeds from this fundraiser support the PTO operating budget (Click here) and spring special requests. For the spring, we've been asked to help fund lighting improvements to the Auditorium/Cafeteria Performing Arts area and to help support improvements to the media center. Even though the program closed today, donations can still be made through the end of the month.
Register on MYBOOSTER.COM if you would like to make a contribution.
Our school has always relied on fundraising to provide exceptional opportunities to enhance student learning. Navigating the pandemic has exposed new and pressing challenges in addition to the conventional ways we typically support the school. Thus, we were unable to do Carnival this year.
Will will tally totals through the weekend and the grade that earns the most pledges will earn a Pizza Prize Party tentatively planned for February 22nd!!! Please watch for an email from your student's teacher.
THANK YOU to Barre3 Montgomery (located across the street from Montgomery Elementary) for sponsoring the Boosterthon Prize party! Barre3 is a full body workout including a combination of strength conditioning, cardio, balance and mindfulness. Childcare is available during morning classes. Email montgomery@barre3.com and mention you're a Montgomery Elementary parent to schedule a free trial class, or Click here for special offers for new clients!!!
Cultural Heritage Celebration:
The Montgomery Elementary PTO has traditionally held a large event to recognize cultures from around the world. We are considering various options to make this event a possibility this year. Please take a moment to complete this brief survey by February 20, 2022.
Yearbook:
We're excited to be working on our current yearbook and actively looking for photo participation from our families! Families who wish to submit photos for the yearbook can do so by emailing them to:
mtptoyearbook@sycamoreschools.org
Please include descriptive text such as "first day of school, halloween, pajama day, snow day, winter break, etc." in order to help us organize the photographs both chronologically and by event. The more descriptive detail, the better.
Yearbooks can be ordered through Lifetouch by clicking here. The Yearbook ID is 14518622 and should auto populate. Price is $20 per unit. Orders will be accepted through the end of March.
March General PTO Meeting:
March 9 @ 9:30am at the Montgomery Elementary School
Please mark your calendars for the March General PTO Meeting. We intend to host the meeting live and in person at Montgomery Elementary in accordance with the Sycamore Schools Healthy Aves protocols. However, please be aware that we will defer to a virtual meeting should protocols change.
Respectfully,
Kristofer Johnston
Montgomery PTO President
