Meditation for Children
This time of year can be a little stressful for all of us. Rushing around to get shopping done, the shortened days, the grey and dreary weather....all create an environment more conducive to stress. Our children are prone to this stress as well.
At BAE many of our students have been learning proactive strategies to help prevent and alleviate stress. Below is some information that you may find helpful...
Sahaja Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique. It helps reduces stress and increases wellness. It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. It is different from all other forms of meditation as it works on raising your own inner energy , based at the base of spine , which when rises takes you into state of meditation. In this state you are thoughtless but aware, a feeling of inner peace takes over that removes stress and tension.
Sahaja meditation is for all age groups. It helps you learn simple and creative ways of meditating as part of your daily routine. You can then sit with your child (children) and enjoy a beautiful time together in peace and pure joy. This will help them become calmer, politer, focused, more creative and confident. We want them to be free from any stress and be self confident to follow and achieve their dreams.
So here's what you can do...
Sit comfortably in a chair or maybe sit on the floor. Place your hands on your lap palms upward. Raise your right hand and place it palm down on the top of your head, in the place that was soft when you were a baby. Press down and rotate your scalp clockwise about seven times while saying silently, "let me experience peace within myself". Raise your hand slowly upwards above your head, move it gently up and down until you locate an energy between your head and your hand. You may feel it on your palm as either warm or cool.Bring your hand back on your lap while keeping your attention at the top of your head where your hand has just been. Sit in mental silence for 5-10 minutes. At the end of the meditation slowly open your eyes.
It is recommended to attend a group class, for profoundly deeper experience. You can join an online Sahaja group meditation at Sahajaonline.com or you can join an in person class, around the world. Classes are always free.
