NEW PROGRAM COMING TO CTS
We've never been so excited to see an ambulance at our schools as we were a few weeks ago!
Beginning next fall, juniors and seniors at Clinton High School, as well as students from 11 area high schools, will have the opportunity to be a part of the district's first-ever Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program at Clinton Technical School.
Through this program, 36 students will be able to earn their EMT certification. This will not only be a tremendous asset to our students and their future, but also to our community and surrounding region.
A special thank you to American Medical Response of Independence for their donation of the ambulance.
Students will be taught by Megan Weiss.
MOVIN' AND GROOVIN' AT HENRY ELEMENTARY
Henry Elementary first graders in Mrs. Lemasson's class have been practicing their sight words with a fun game of Hand Up, Stand Up, Pair Up. Students enjoyed dancing around the room, pausing a peer, reading their sight word, trading, and grooving around the room again!
Instructional strategies such as this, are designed to foster classroom cooperation and communication, increase students' confidence, and help them retain the skills they are learning.

INDUCTED INTO SPORTS HALL OF FAME
Between 1991 and 1993, the Clinton High School Girls Cross Country Teams earned top-four finishes each season at the Class 3 state meet, including winning the state championship in 1993. This historic run was the reason team members and coaches from the 1991-1993 era were recently inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame at the Women’s Sports Luncheon in Springfield, MO.
Team members from this era included: Jennifer (Owen) Call, Leigh Ann (Sexauer) Thompson, Emily (Miles) Kazmaier, Mindy (Wyatt) Hill, Emily (Sledd) Brown, Amber (Houk) Lautenschlager, Amy (Norcross) Wareham, Tracy Smith, Amber (Harrell) Woodrome, and Jamie (Alexander) Smith. Coaches Clint and Karen Sanders dedicated a combined total of almost 60 years teaching and coaching students in the Clinton School District.
Present for the induction ceremony were: Clint and Karen Sanders, Emily (Miles) Kazmaier, Amy (Norcross) Wareham, Amber (Harrell) Woodrome, Jamie (Alexander) Smith, Jennifer (Owen) Call, Mindy (Wyatt) Hill, Emily (Sledd) Brown, Amber (Houk) Lautenschlager, Clinton School District administration and staff, Board of Education member (and former bus driver for the Cross Country team) Marilyn Parratt, as well as friends and family members of the inductees.
Help us congratulate these Cardinals on this amazing honor.

LITTLE CARDINALS CREATE STRUCTURES
After a two-month study of buildings, students put to work all they had learned about planning, shapes, lines, and corners to create their own unique structures!
Students in Ms. Christy's Clinton Early Childhood Center class created their own blueprint and used it to build their own unique structure. Students then presented their creations to the class.

ADVANCED MARKETING
Students in Mrs. Thompson’s Advanced Marketing class at Clinton High School successfully created and packaged their own trail mixes as part of a unit on product packaging and branding.
Students chose a group of consumers to target, created their products with various ingredients, named the products, conducted taste tests, and then chose packaging to meet the needs of the targeted group. Advanced Marketing is offered to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have completed the Introduction to Marketing course.

WELCOME, CLASS OF 2027
Earlier this week, Clinton Middle School 8th graders and students from Leesville R-IX, Davis R-XII, Shawnee R-III, Holy Rosary, CCA, and Calhoun had the opportunity to learn all about life as a Clinton High School Cardinal.
Clinton High School student-leaders provided tours of the school as well as information on the many opportunities that CHS provides students during their four years as a high school student.
We are very proud of how helpful, encouraging, and informative our student-leaders were and we look forward to welcoming these soon-to-be freshmen to CHS in the fall!

STAYING FIT AND GIVING BACK AT CIS
Students in Mrs. Engeman's after school Healthy Eating and Fitness Club spent time last week picking up leaves and trash around the school as a way to stay active and fit. Students then refueled from all of their hard work with a healthy snack.
These students also oversaw their school's recent food drive. Clinton Intermediate School collected 204 pounds of food!
