AAI Class of 2023 - August 2022
Message for Senior Families
Welcome back to school! This is a very exciting year for you and your senior. It will go by fast! Please make sure to read our parent newsletter, The Avenger Announcements for general information about Alliance. This newsletter, The Senior Scoop, contains information specifically for the Class of 2023. We will send out The Senior Scoop quarterly to make sure that you are aware of all of the many exciting activities and events that will take place this year.
Senior Year To-Do List
Senior Dues:
It is now time to pay your Senior Fees! Your Senior Fees are $150 and are due by December 1st. This covers the cost of your cap, gown, tassel(s), diploma, diploma cover, pathway medallions, pins, and all other costs associated with your graduation ceremony on May 20, 2023. Please click on this link: Senior Dues Payment Instructions for instructions on how to pay your senior fees. The direct website to pay is www.3rdascent.com. Caps and gowns will be delivered to Alliance Academy and will be handed out to students on Senior Celebration Day in May.
Senior Brag Sheet / Senior Profile:
If you have a senior that will need a recommendation letter from a counselor/teacher, please take the time to complete a Senior Parent Brag Sheet, which will give parents the opportunity to brag about your student and help the counselors write a recommendation letter to the college/university they are applying to. Also, be sure to have your senior complete a Senior Profile, which will provide counselor/teachers with additional information about your student. Click on the links or on the images below. Please fill these out by Sept. 15, 2022.
Senior Guidance:
Counselors are visiting Senior English classes this week to meet with students to share details on graduation and post high school planning. Seniors who are taking English as a dual enrollment class should plan to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday August 23 at 8:00 in the Innovation Lounge. If your dual enrolled student cannot attend this meeting, please have them make an appointment with their counselor by scanning the QR code found posted around school.
College Applications:
Many colleges have Early Decision/Early Action deadlines in October. Make sure that you are checking the college websites for information specific to the college/university of choice. Check out the Senior Toolbox on our AAI Website for resources and information about the college application process.
Yearbook / Senior Portraits:
If your senior has not yet had their senior portrait taken for the yearbook, you will need to set up an appointment ASAP! Click here for directions on how to set up an appointment.
Yearbook Sales and Senior Ad Pages:
It's time to purchase your yearbook and create your Senior Ad page to honor your student. Please click HERE for more information. The deadline to submit Senior Ad Pages is Oct. 10, 2022.
Important Dates for Seniors
Aug 23, 2022 8:00 AM Senior Guidance for Dual Enrollment Students:
Students who missed the Senior Guidance in their English class this week, or are dual enrolled in English this year, please plan to attend a meeting on Tuesday Aug. 23 at 8:00 in the Innovation Lounge to learn about graduation and post high school planning.
Aug 25, 2022 6:00 - 7:45 PM Curriculum Night for all AAI families
Come to AAI next Thursday Aug. 25th to meet your student's teachers and visit classrooms for short presentations from the teachers. Please make sure that you have a copy of your child's schedule with you that evening.
Aug 31, 2022 6:00-7:00 Senior Parent Information Night:
At this event, AAI Counselors will share important information about senior year and post high school planning for parents. If you are unable to attend, please check the AAI website after Sept. 1 for all of the information that we will share that night.
Sept 8, 2022 Probe Fair @ Lanier Tech
Seniors who are looking to gain more insight on colleges/universities should join the Counseling team in attending the Probe Fair at Lanier Tech on September 8. There will be an announcement and a field trip form to attend the fair and meet college representatives from various states including Georgia State College, Albany State University, Embry Riddle University, University of Florida, Johnson & Wales University, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and more. More information on the Probe Fair can be found on their website.
May 20, 2023 Graduation Ceremony 2:00 PM We will celebrate the class of 2023 at the FoCAL Center on Saturday May 20, 2023.
