New student social
24 New students attended a social. This provided an opportunity for them to get to know other students new to HHS in which they could relate.
ISAC- Financial Aid help
Our Illinois Student Assistance Commission representative visited to work with students to complete their FAFSA- financial aid form. She spoke with 9 students in a classroom presentation and worked with 5 students 1 on 1.
Career Center Technology update
Through a generous grant donation from the Highland Rotary Club, we were able to purchase 7 computer workstations for our outdated career center. This technology has helped us work with students to gather data for decision making, and meet needs for career and college financial aid work.
Professional Development
1 counselor attended a workshop at St. Louis College of Pharmacy
1 counselor and 1 social worker attended a workshop on Youth Mental Health First Aid
1 counselor, 1 intern and 1 social worker attended a boost training for Student Assistance Program Team.
College Fair at SWIC
1 counselor served on the committee and attended the St. Louis Metro East Baccalaureate College Fair at Southwestern Illinois College. Multiple HHS Students attended the fair to gather information for their future.
