History and Information

The Ku Klux Klan is a society of white people who oppose blacks, Jews, and other minority groups. They are usually violent towards non whites. They wear white hoods and robes and would burn crosses at meetings.

Many white southerners joined the organization to oppose Radical Reconstruction. They would usually whip and kill freed black men and other people that supported them. The KKK was disbanded and revived many times in the 1900s. They opposed Roman Catholics, Jews, foreigners and organized labor.
