Editing Student Attendance
Taking Attendance for Previous Days
If, at some point in the past week, you did not take attendance for one or more of your class periods, follow these easy steps to enter attendance for those days or periods missed.
Step #1:
Begin by selecting the class period for which you missed taking attendance. If you are not certain which class period you missed, it may be useful to start with your earliest class and double-check attendance for all class periods.
Step #2:
Choose to take attendance by list.
Step #3:
Click on the button that allows you to go back 10 days.
Step #4:
Edit attendance as necessary for any day(s) missed.
Step #5:
Click "Save."
Step #6:
If you are missing attendance in multiple classes for previous days, click "Change Class," and repeat Step #1 - Step #5 for your other class(es).
Step #7: (IF NO STUDENTS WERE ABSENT.)
Follow Step #1-3 to navigate to the day missed and mark one (random) student absent.
Step #8
Click "Save."
Step #9
Now, mark the same student present.
Step #10
Click "Save."
Note:
When you correct attendance for a previous day, Synergy marks the current day's attendance (for that class period) as taken whether it was or was not. That premature green check may fool you into thinking you took attendance when you may not have.
