NEW! STEAM Club Opportunities
Improv Club (Round 2):
Learn about the science of your two sides of your brain and perform some improv! Improv is a form of comedic theater in which participants perform unplanned, unscripted, and spontaneous skits.
This activity will take place on Feb. 26, 27, and 28.
Music Video Creation:
Students joining this club will create a music video. They will learn about copyrights, pick a non-copyrighted song, plan a video shoot, film, edit and watch each other's videos. Students will use the video creation application, iMovie, to make their videos.
This activity will take place on March 5th and 6th.
Coding-(Round 2):
This club was extended by popular demand! Coding can be done off and on the computer. Either way, students think critically to create the correct language for a set of instructions or tasks that a system understands.
Participants can attend all sessions but attendance at all four is not necessary. No coding experience is necessary.
This activity will take place on Feb. 26, March 5, March 19, and/or March 26
Computing with Minecraft:
Create loops, debug code, build structures, and create your own animations with Computing With Minecraft. Students will learn foundational Computer Science concepts and build their computational thinking skills. As a part of the district's partnership with Microsoft, we have access to Minecraft EDU (educational version) and will be utilizing that version in any Minecraft clubs.
Check out Minecraft EDU
Digital Storytelling with Minecraft:
"Developed by the creative team at Pure Imaginations, Project S (storytelling) is a tool for inspiring creative writing in a media many of your pupils will be familiar with."
This activity will take place on March 26 and March 28, April 2 and April 4. Follow the link for a lengthier description:
