Today's Readers = Tomorrow's Leaders!
We all know the importance of reading and its connection to everything we do: math problem-solving, science and social studies content reading, map/chart/graph reading, etc. So --- please be sure to ask your student about his/her selected reading selections & homework assignments each school day.
When connecting to your student's reading selections, you might say: "Tell me about the book you are reading. Who is the main character/or characters? Are you enjoying the story? What do you think will happen next?, etc." Those daily conversations are powerful as our students continue to grow their reading comprehension and fluency. Our students should be reading at home for 20 minutes each school day.

Thinking Forward to our 2022/23 School Year...
As you know, each of our Johnson City ELEMENTARY Schools will include Grade 5 as an integral team within our school campuses beginning with the new 2022 school year.
This is SUPER exciting!
- This means: our current Grade 4 students at Woodland will remain with us and transition as our Grade 5 student leaders for the forthcoming school year.
- Upon completion of Grade 5, our Woodland students will then transition to Liberty Bell Middle School for Grades 6 - 8.
- And onward to Science Hill High School for Grades 9 - 12.
- Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions/or needed clarifications at any time.
Our Woodland Leadership Links
WE are so very proud of our students as together we are learning and growing through these important Leadership Links. Be proactive and put first things first by asking your student/or students about these important links. WE are learning these important habits are applicable at home and at school.
Our Ongoing Woodland Service Project
Thank you, Woodland Students & Families!
Our Woodland Student Council wants to thank all families who are collecting aluminum can tabs. We appreciate your collections and are excited to donate them to The Ronald McDonald House. We will be collecting the tabs for the remainder of our school year, so continue sending them in.
