Household Testing Kits

January 5, 2022

Dear LLCS Families:

New York State has delivered rapid antigen COVID tests to all schools in the state. State and local health officials are providing these tests as an additional resource to schools and families. COVID-19 Rapid and PCR testing will continue to be available through our school’s health office.

If you are interested in obtaining a free COVID-19 test kit for your child please complete the request form attached to this link: Test Kit Request Form

What to do if your child tests negative with the at-home test but has COVID symptoms: Keep your child at home, contact the school and schedule a PCR test with the school nurse or your healthcare provider.

What to do if your child tests positive with the at-home test for COVID: Keep the student home (plan on isolation for a total of 10 days) and report the positive result to Long Lake Central School and public health.

Hamilton County DOH: (518) 648-6497

Franklin County DOH: (518) 481-1709

Please help stop the spread by keeping your student home when he/she is not feeling well. The COVID-19 Omicron variant symptoms are like that of a head cold and can be easily dismissed as minor.

Being fully vaccinated is one of the best strategies to stop the spread of COVID-19 along with masks, social distancing and good hand hygiene. We maintain communication with HCPH and quickly adjust to new protocols, utilize our testing resources, and adapt as needed. We are committed to providing in-person learning in the safest environment possible and this has been made possible because of the support we receive from our students, staff, families and community.

Sincerely,

Michelle Billings, RN

School Nurse
