Academic Team News
Later this month, the 8th grade team (April 22) and the 8th/9th grade team (April 29) will also compete in state competition. Roger Gossen also coaches these teams.
Trivia Challenge
In the quarterfinals, Streetcar beat KC, Plainsmen beat O'Callahans, Guy's Guys defeated Taylors, and Vance Censored upset the Cabelleros. In the semi-finals, Streetcar knocked off the Plainsmen by only 20 points and Vance Censored, again in a seeding upset, beat Guy's Guys by 20. In the Finals, Vance Censored was trying to defend their title from last year, but Streetcar Named Winning kept their name true by edging Vance by 20.
An All Star team of the top five scorers from the pool play was announced by the tournament director, Roger Gossen. The top scorer was John Ward from Vance Censored with 420 points. Others on the All Star teams were Eli Taylor, Taylors, 260; John Crockett, Plainsmen, 320; Aaron Randall, Guy's, 310; and Kelly Riddle, KC & the Sunshine Band, 310.
The 28th annual event raised around $1300 for the academic teams.
