The Knight Times
The Saint Columbkille School Family Newsletter
This week we celebrated Our Lady of the Rosary with a living rosary in the front of our school. Balloons were released to represent each Hail Mary and Our Father that was said. A huge thank you to the teachers and staff members who worked to put this on! It was incredibly memorable and meaningful!
Kindergarten students raised money to send to Prayers from Maria with their Bike-A-Thon! It was awesome seeing them ride their bikes around our basketball court, enjoy the playground, and participate in some unique crafts and games!
The SCS STREAM program was 'hauntingly" amazing! Students were tasked with constructing Haunted Houses using several different types of items. It will be interesting to see the final product!
Our 4th Grade Scholars celebrated their knowledge of vocabulary words with an amazing Vocabulary Parade and spectacular superhero capes! They are truly Vocabulary Superheroes! VOCAB...RUMBLE!!!
The Little Knights in Prekindergarten made applesauce from FRESH apples and learned how Candy Corn is "SWEET" like Jesus and represents the Holy Trinity with three colors in one piece of candy.
Our Littlest Knights in Preschool painted using apples and explored the signs of Fall right outside on the SCS Campus!
Tons of Fun, Fall Activities! It makes me PROUD to be a KNIGHT!
All the best for a beautiful weekend!

A Message from our Marketing Director...
Dear SCS Parents,
Hello! If I have not had the pleasure of meeting you yet, my name is Rachael Armbruster and I am the new Director of Marketing and Communications for St. Columbkille parish and school. I wanted to take a moment to reach out to ask for your help on a video that I am compiling for the upcoming Giving Tuesday fundraiser. We want to hear straight from you about what makes St. Columbkille different from other schools! Within the next few weeks, if you have a spare moment to video yourself answering a question or two and send it to me, I’d greatly appreciate it. Simply set up your phone horizontally, hit record, and answer the questions ‘Why did you send your child to St. Columbkille?’ or ‘If you are an alumni, how has a Catholic education impacted your life?’ Below is a link to a Google Drive folder that you can drop it into, or you can share it to me directly. Submissions are due no later than November 8th. Thank you for your time, and I am incredibly excited to hear your responses!
If a family member within the same household tests positive for COVID:
All students who attend SCS must quarantine for a minimum of 10 days. Those students must also present a NEGATIVE COVID test that is no more than 3 days old before being allowed to return.
If during that 10 day period, symptoms of COVID being to emerge, please contact your child's pediatrician for further advice and a COVID test. If a child contracts COVID who attends SCS, that child must remain in a 14 day isolation (away from others) before being able to assume normally scheduled activities; school, sports, etc.
While in a 10 Day Quarantine, if that child tests positive for COVID, the 10 day quarantine no longer exists and it automatically becomes a 14 day isolation.
FACTS SIS Closed beginning October 12th - October 28th
Wreaths Across America... A note from Mrs. Brezina
I am excited to have the opportunity for St. Columbkille to show their love and support to our Military!
Our goal is to donate 200 Wreaths for the Soldiers who have been laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery through the Wreaths Across America Organization.
St. Columbkille School will receive $5 back for every wreath that is donated from our school, and will be used for upcoming Military events here at SCS. Each wreath is $15.
This event will continue to demonstrate how our SCS community supports The United States Military and our Purple Star Mission.
These wreaths will be placed at the tombstones of our Military Personnel at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery located in Rittman, Ohio on Saturday, December 18th at noon.
