"Worksheets Don't Grow Dendrites"
Student Privacy
Advances in technology provide us with tremendous educational opportunities. We have on-demand content delivery and feedback, personalized instruction, connections to authentic sources, as well as interaction with each other and original sources. It’s an exciting time full of opportunities for our students. The tools we have in front of us open many doors for our students, some of those door lead to wonderful experiences, but some may not. Protecting our students’ privacy on this journey is an essential part of this process. Colorado House Bill 16-1423 is the law that addresses this.
What are teachers supposed to do when they find a quality resource for instruction? Plan ahead and see your DLC. There are processes in place to ensure that the tools we use protect our students’ privacy. This means all of our digital tools. To make things easier for you, you have a team ready to help. Your Data Response Team consists of your DLC, BTC and Teacher-Librarian. We are here to help navigate these waters.
