WELCOME TO MANAUS, BRAZIL

ASHLEY JOO

LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AMAZON RAIN FOREST

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE YEAR AROUND THE AMAZON RAIN FOREST IS 80 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. THE TEMPERATURE RARELY GETS HIGHER THEN 84 DEGREES AND LOVER THEN 68 DEGREES. THE AMAZON ALSO HAS MORE THEN 1000 TRIBUTARIES AND 17 OF THEM ARE 1000 MILES LONG. THIS TROPICAL RAIN FOREST HAS A LOT OF BIODIVERSITY CAUSING IT TO BE VERY SUSTAINABLE. A FEW ORGANISMS IN THE RAIN FOREST INCLUDE: MONKEYS, BIRDS, SNAKES, RODENTS, FROGS, BAMBOO TREES, BANANA TREES, AND LIZARDS. A COMMON FOOD CHAIN HERE WOULD BE IN THE ORDER: GRASS, GRASSHOPPER, SNAKE, HAWK, THEN FUNGI.

THE HILL COUNTRY DIFFERS FROM THE AMAZON RAIN FOREST BECAUSE WHILE THE AMAZON RAIN FOREST IS A TROPICAL RAIN FOREST THE HILL COUNTRY IS A TEMPERATE GRASSLAND. ALTHOUGH THEY ARE VERY DIFFERENT ECO-REGIONS THEY ARE ALIKE BECAUSE OF THEIR HIGH BIODIVERSITY. COMPARED TO THE HILL COUNTRY YOU WILL EXPERIENCE LESS DRASTIC TEMPERATURE CHANGES. YOU WILL ALSO EXPERIENCE A MORE TROPICAL ENVIRONMENT COMPARED TO THE HILL COUNTRY.
