Friday Flyer
Second Grade
Dear Second Grade Parents,
Happy Earth Day! We celebrated by doing some fun activities outdoors, such as Recycle Shootout and making pledge to the earth necklaces. In the classroom, we watched "The Lorax" with the First and Third Grades.
Last Monday, Ms. Angela from the Audubon Society talked to us about the water cycle and how pollutants enter our water source. We spent time in the outdoor classroom as well as in the library to do an experiment on a model town. Thanks to Dr. Yaffe for organizing this special incursion!
Arctic animal research reports went home yesterday after having been on display in the library for a few weeks. Enjoy your children's beautifully painted covers and informative writing pieces!
Next week is State Hats Day! We will send you more details a few days before the special day so that you understand the logistics for Friday morning. The children have been working hard with rehearsing their songs and speeches. We hope that all is going well with hat construction and state snack planning!
Have a great weekend,
Emilia and Rachel
