Dieringer Education Foundation 2022 Veterans Day Essay Contest
The Dieringer Education Foundation Presents The 2022 Veterans Day Essay Contest
The Dieringer Education Foundation invites all North Tapps Middle School Students to participate in the Veterans Day Essay Contest. For over 70 years, Dieringer students have recognized our veterans in what has become one of our most honored traditions. Again this year, cash prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place finishers in each grade level.
When preparing to write the essay, first choose one of the three prompts. Next, after thinking about the sacrifices veterans have made for our country or how the lives of veterans have been affected by their service, decide the best way to respond. Sharing personal or family stories is strongly encouraged. For best results, include the steps of pre-writing and editing before writing a final draft. Be sure to use convincing arguments and appropriate conventions. Other important information along with the judges' scoring guide can be found below.
Prompts:
“Why do you think it is important for veterans of the military to have a special holiday devoted to them?”
“What are some of the ways we can honor the women who have devoted their lives to serving our country?”
“How might your life be different had men and women in our country’s past not been willing to fight for our freedom?”
