The Lady Vikings basketball program made its first ever trip to the State Final Four in program history on Thursday and Friday. They faced off with Kirkwood on Thursday afternoon. In front of a huge student section, parents, and fans that traveled to Mizzou arena to support the Lady Vikings, they led early by as many as 11 points before falling 66-55 in the State Semi's. They came back the next morning to take on Liberty in the third place game. Our ladies battled but ended up falling 53-46 to finish 4th in Class 5. Band Has Strong Showing At Large Ensemble Festival

The FHHS band program had another great week. The band performed at the large ensemble festival last week. The band performed Black Granite by James Hosay and Afterlife by Rossano Galante. Black Granite is a symphonic march commemorating the wall of soldiers that is our Vietnam War Memorial. Afterlife is a beautiful chorale type piece that represents one composers idea of what the afterlife is to him. You can see this piece being performed again at the spring concert. At the large ensemble festival, the band received all 2's which are representative of an "excellent" performance.
