Distance Learning Week 4 & 5
Adrian Middle/High School
On Our Way to Midterm!
Three weeks of Distance Learning are complete, and we are on our way to Midterm. At the end of this two-week period, May 1st, we will be over halfway done with Quarter 4. We are so proud of the students who are engaged in the learning process and making this work. Our teachers and support staff are spending countless hours planning, organizing, brainstorming, and connecting to give every student the chance to be successful. We ask that you reach out if there is any way we can benefit you and your family. We know that it hasn't been an easy process for some of our families, and we are very willing to do anything we can to help.
For planning purposes, note we are on our regular schedule for the next two weeks. Middle/High School classes will run on the modified block (explained below) Monday -Thursday, and Friday will be a day for homework, reteaching, and connections. It is also a catch up day if a student missed any assignments during the week. Remember, only a few classes meet each day.
As we are getting better with the technology for our education, we are starting to slowly increase some of the coursework (rigor) in the classes. We want to do our best to touch on the critical concepts before the end of the year, especially in our core classes. This doesn't mean large changes, but there may be a slight increase in some classes.
At this time we have not received any official information about what will happen after this two-week period. As soon as we get any news from the governor, we will share our future plans with you.
Weekly Class Schedule - Modified Block
Weekly Zoom Schedules - by grade
It is also important that teachers may set up additional Zooms for students who have questions and need help. Those don't/won't appear on the schedule because they are not required for all students, but instead are opportunities and set up for students who are reaching out for assistance. Please understand that some of these time may change as we find out more about how it is working with students and for teachers.
The link for the Zoom Schedule is below - please use the tabs to go to different grade levels.
**Not every class is doing live Zooms - they may post videos or lessons in Google Classroom
**Special Education courses and ELL courses are scheduled separately based on student needs.
***Electives are in orange - students only need to plan for the electives in which they are enrolled
Emailing with teachers - Have a plan!
We ask students to be prepared to work ahead (skip the problems that they are struggling with) to continue to make progress while they wait for responses from the teachers. Moving to another topic while you wait (if skipping the problems is not a possibility) is also a good strategy.
Prom
We also realize that by trying to reschedule, we will not be able to meet everyone's personal schedule. We will do our best to find an appropriate date, if possible, but please realize attending prom will be a choice that some students will have to decide about with other social plans.
Graduation 2020
Due to the generous donations of local families and business people through the street banner project, we are also able to purchase graduation gowns for each senior this year. As soon as all senior complete the Google Form they have been sent (twice), we will order them and have them ready for seniors to pick up. These gowns will become the property of each senior. We cannot thank you enough for all the support of this amazing community!!!
