Sock and Blanket Drive Update
Thank you so much for the generous donations to the Student Council Sock and Blanket Drive. The KPMS Student Council collected 253 pairs of socks that will be donated to Boston Healthcare for the Homeless and 64 blankets that will be distributed to the homeless population in Boston.
Ms. Barrett's homeroom and Mrs. Narvaez's homerooms have been chosen as the winners of the ice cream treats! Congratulations!
Food Drive -- November 1 - 15
From the Student Council:
The Student Council is sponsoring a Food Drive beginning Friday, November 1st and running through Friday, November 15th. Students should bring in nonperishable items and drop them in the boxes in their homerooms. All items will be donated to local families in need during the holidays and to the food pantries in Wrentham, Norfolk, and Plainville.
Along with the food drive, there will be a team competition for the collection of items. The winning team will be awarded a trophy at Pep Rally. Each item is worth one point. There are some items that are worth double or triple points. Double point items: canned fruits and canned vegetables. Triple point items: Thanksgiving items such as gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, or stuffing. To qualify for these double and triple points, the team must have at least 125 other food items in their collection. As long as the team has 125 other food items, the cans of veggies and fruit will each count as two points and Thanksgiving items will count as three points each!
Last year, a total of 2557 items were collected and donated to 10 local families in need and the food pantries in Wrentham, Norfolk, and Plainville! Let's top this number this year! Our highest total was over 8100 items!!! Thank you in advance!
