Excellence in ALL we do!

Golden Tickets

We not only met our campus-wide Golden Ticket goal, we exceeded it! The final total was 5443...way to go Vikings.

Students and staff were treated to ice cream on Wednesday for meeting this goal.

Thank You for Another Successful Year

Thank you for another wonderful and productive school year. I can’t thank everyone enough for your endless hours of volunteering, chaperoning, reading, organizing, donating and doing whatever was necessary to support students—both at home and at school.

Special thanks to our PTO who went above and beyond the call of duty to provide whatever was necessary to add to our students’ already rich school experience.

That experience could not occur without the endless energy, skills and devotion of the LVES staff. Thanks and well done to an incredible group of professionals that I am honored and proud to work with each day!

A final word to LVES students: Thank you for all your hard work throughout the school year. I am so honored to be your principal; you make me proud to be a Viking. I am grateful for your joy and amazing talents. Best wishes to our third graders who will move up to LVIS next year—please come back and visit. Everyone have a safe and happy summer break.

Until next school year, here’s wishing you love, laughter and learning!

Important Yearbook Delivery News

Our yearbook arrival date is delayed, meaning that unfortunately our books will not arrive before the end of the school year. On that note, do not fret! Autograph pages will be provided to your students in lieu of their books for their friends to sign. We will also be hosting a get together in June for kids to grab a treat, get out of the house, meet up with their friends, grab their book and trade autographs! This date will be announced in next weeks newsletter, as well as on the facebook PTO page and will be emailed directly to you. If you can not make this date, further arrangements can be made for pick up, or lastly your child will receive their book at "Meet the Teachers" if you plan to be out of town all summer. Thank you for your support in yearbook and we appreciate your patience!

Summer School News

If your child is attending the two week summer school session, please make sure you mark the dates on the calendar. Summer school is June 3rd-13th (Monday-Thursday only) from 8:30-11:30 am. Snacks will not be provided, so if you send a snack with your child please do not send anything made with peanuts/nuts or made in a place that contains peanuts/nuts. We do have students with severe allergies and want to make sure they are safe.

Drop-off and pick up for summer school is in the main hallway. Teachers will not be on duty until 8:30 am, so parents will need to stay with their child until the teacher arrives. There will be signs for each grade level in the main hallway for students to line up.

August Events - Mark Your Calendars

Be sure to mark your calendars for these August events:

  • Kinder Camp - August 2nd from 9:00 am-11:00 am. Incoming kindergarten students get to know the kindergarten teachers, LVES, and meet new friends by rotating through fun stations. A school bus will even be on campus for students to take a tour! Students must be completely registered in order to attend Kinder Camp. If you have any questions regarding registration, please contact Ms. Fidencio at veronica_fidencio@lagovista.txed.net
  • New Family Orientation - August 8th at 6:00 pm. If you are a new family to LVES for the 2019-2020 school year, join us in the cafeteria to hear about the top 10 things to know about LVES before school starts. Members of the office staff will be on hand to answer your questions and give you a tour of the school.
  • Meet The Teacher Night - August 12th from 5:00-6:00 pm. This is the night all families look forward to all summer! This is the chance to come meet your new teacher and drop off school supplies. Postcards from teachers will be mailed home the week prior to Meet The Teacher Night.

Summer Office Hours

Beginning on June 3rd, our front office hours will be Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am-4:00 pm. These hours will remain in effect until June 27th. LVES will be closed for the month of July.

May's Character Trait is Gratitude. Here are ways that students can demonstrate Integrity:

  • Say thank you for the things that you receive;
  • Think about what you are thankful for and why;
  • Show others how nice it feels to be remembered and appreciated by someone;
  • Write thank you cards;
  • Enjoy giving back;
  • Understand that you are not owed things, you earn them.
